The Yudelele travel guitars are hand-crafted for the traveler, the adventurer, the passionate, the lazy, the introverts, the extroverts, the music aficionado, in short they are for everyone.

They are small portable guitars built for the best quality sound combined with ultra mobility. The creator of Yudelele, Yude Andiko, set out on a mission to create a mini yet powerful guitar that he could take with him everywhere. From the comfort of his own home in a hammock, to the vast landscapes of Indonesia.

“I wanted to be able to play anywhere. In my hammock at home, a train, bus, plane or even in the car when I’m stuck in traffic.”  -Yude Andiko

Yude went to work with craftsmen from his native island of Java and adopted home of Bali. Creating sample after sample, testing them out on the road, set on perfecting the tone, character and build quality of the instruments.

The main workshop is nestled amidst the rice fields of the guitar village of Sukoharjo on the island of Java. There, our talented guitar makers were taught how to earn more by producing a higher quality product. The workshop is open and breezy, our staff work regular hours, and they receive a very good wage for their work. Factory tours are available with Yude upon request.

These instruments are a labour of love, a product of years of research and development. Hand crafted by the finest wood carvers in Bali, each model produced is identified by an individual serial number. Yudelele is designed by a musician for musicians. All models have built in piezo pickup, ebony or rosewood fret board, maple wood inlays and bone nut and saddle creating a sturdy and full sound.

“Basically, it’s the perfect travel guitar.” –Yude Andiko

The perfect travel guitar; available with custom made lightweight and hard travel cases incorporating pandan leaves and batik in their design. Currently, the show room has six versions of Yudelele (with more varieties on the way:-); the Ubud, the Gili, the Jogja, the Bangko Bangko, the Labuan Bajo and the Canggu model – each named and styled after the destinations which inspired and shaped its sound. We continually get resoundingly positive feedback about the quality of our instruments from a wide range of folks; musical aficionados to beginners, children to travelers.
